Congress Prepares Stopgap Funding Before Christmas

The House of Representatives approved a stopgap measure to fund the federal government into the next year.With funds for federal government agencies expiring on December 22nd, the Congress must move swiftly to pass the measure before they break for the Holidays.The temporary spending bill passed by 231-to-188, with votes being cast mostly along party lines.The short-term measure will fund the federal government through January 19th.The bill now moves to the Senate for final passage.
