According to an article by Gizmodo, a nightmarish scene recently took place in New South Wales, Australia, as thousands of venomous Portuguese man o’ wars washed up on the rocks just south of Bateman’s Bay. The infestation of the marine animals - also known as bluebottles - was discovered by a couple walking along Barlings beach last week. According to marine biologist Christie Wilcox, the mass beaching happens when strong onshore winds push the wildlife into the shallows.
