A deadly viral disease spread by bats is once again infecting humans--but it's not Ebola.The Nipah virus has infected at least 18 people and killed 17 in Kerala, India.According to Gizmodo, the outbreak is raising fears of a pandemic.In 1998, it sickened nearly 300 people and killed 100 in Malaysia.They were mostly farmers who'd been in contact with pigs infected by fruit bats.Those exposed to Nipah develop flu-like symptoms of fever, cough, and headache.
