FCC Delivers Blow To Sinclair Tribune Merger

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission said on Wednesday that it had voted unanimously to refer Sinclair Broadcast Group's $3.9 billion acquisition of Tribune Media to an administrative law judge, which is a blow to the firms’ chances of winning approval. Reuters reports that the decision came despite the company’s announcement it would not divest three television stations currently owned by Tribune.
